I got to try out several authoring systems in the past five years, and was quickly impressed and pleased when we switched to Articulate Storyline 2 last year. Like any good software, it's very easy to get started, but it grows with you: it has a depth of capability that allows one to learn to do more technical and elaborate things with it. On my way out the door of my last position, I grabbed a few screens from a few courses I made, "deidentified" them by replacing the narration with Peanuts teacher-talk and the text with nonsense text, and published. Turn the sound down or mute it if the Peanuts "wah-wah-waaah" gets old - I even managed to annoy myself, and I'll redo these when I get a chance.
